Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School, situated at 130 Madhavaram High Road, Perambur, Chennai - 600 011 is managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco. Don Bosco is a Catholic priest who lived and died in Italy in the 19th Century. He was known for his work for the youth in the troubled times of the industrial revolution. He founded a Religious Congregation to continue the work that he had initiated. It is called the Salesian Congregation. Today the Salesian Congregation is present in 130 countries of the world. The Salesians number about sixteen thousand. The Salesians came to India in 1906 and are now spread all over India. Today they number about 2500 and they run hundreds of educational institutions in the country. Normally the Salesians name their schools after their founder: Don Bosco. However, there are also Don Bosco schools which are not run by the Salesians.

The Salesians have 11 provinces in India. The Salesian Province of Chennai is spread over the northern districts of Tamil Nadu. Salesians of the Chennai Province have 39 Academic Schools, 12 Institutes of Higher Education, 9 Formal Technical Institutes and 19 non-Formal Technical Institutes. Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School is one of its schools.

Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School was started in 1985. It is devoted to the holistic education of its pupils. The Schools caters to the education of the locality. It is non-aided private school. It is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Its registration number is 01/031/2005. It follows the Samacheer (Common) Syllabus.
