Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School, situated at 130 Madhavaram High Road, Perambur, Chennai - 600 011 is managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco. Don Bosco is a Catholic priest who lived and died in Italy in the 19th Century. He was known for his work for the youth in the troubled times of the industrial revolution. He founded a Religious Congregation to continue the work that he had initiated. It is called the Salesian Congregation. Today the Salesian Congregation is present in 130 countries of the world. The Salesians number about sixteen thousand. The Salesians came to India in 1906 and are now spread all over India.

Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School is a non-aided Christian Minority Institution run by the Salesians of Don Bosco. It is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu (01/031/2005). It follows the Samacheer (Common) Syllabus. It is committed to the holistic education of its pupils.

Today they number about 2500 and they run hundreds of educational institutions in the country. Normally the Salesians name their schools after their founder: Don Bosco. However, there are also Don Bosco schools which are not run by the Salesians.
